Green Bay Packaging (GBP), a national leader in sustainable paperboard packaging, recognized the need to modernize its operations after relying on aging applications and manual processes. Although the organization had already invested in Microsoft 365 (M365), it had yet to fully explore the platform’s potential beyond document management.
“Many organizations have M365 but have no idea what it can do,” said Jeff Wojciuk, GBP’s Application Development Manager. “Most think it’s just useful for document management, but it can also do content management, versioning, workflows, and more.”
Seeing an opportunity to unlock greater business value, Wojciuk and his team sought a strategic partner to help identify solutions that would align with the unique workflows and challenges across GBP’s departments and divisions.
Considerations
For the Human Resources Group, NRI implemented a suite of SharePoint sites with enhanced security, intuitive navigation, and streamlined content management. These enhancements provided HR managers with secure, easy access to essential information and improved the employee experience by simplifying access to forms, communication sites, and training resources.
For the Fiber Resource Division, NRI leveraged Microsoft 365 and Power Platform to automate workflows, centralize data aggregation, and enable real-time decision-making for managing over 350,000 acres of owned and managed land. By digitizing manual processes and integrating data analytics, GBP’s management team gained better visibility into land management decisions, driving operational efficiency and improving ROI.
In addition to the core implementations, NRI automated several key processes for Green Bay Packaging, saving time and improving accuracy. These solutions included automating the Customer Compliance Letter process, streamlining travel requests from 30 locations, and creating a centralized executive reporting system for 30+ divisions. Together, these enhancements reduced manual effort, improved process consistency, and increased operational efficiency.
